Letter From Men’s Health Forum Scotland

Dear Maybole Men’s Health Forum

I am the information worker at Men’s Health Forum Scotland based in Glasgow. Our main aim is to raise awareness of men’s health issues and men’s health initiatives/projects in Scotland. We have a network of 1800 members which consists of NHS, Voluntary Sector, Local Authorities, Criminal Justice System, and people who have a general interest in men’s health. Every month we send out an e-bulletin to our members which includes information about events, training opportunities, men’s health initiatives etc. The e-bulletin is a way for our members to share information, publicise their events, training opportunities etc. I attach a copy to give you some idea of the information we circulate and our website address is www.mhfs.org.uk.

See E-bulletin

I came across your website through Google and wondered if you would be interested in sharing information about your forum through our website and e-bulletin. We are always keen to hear about initiatives that are setup specifically for men and wondered if you would like to have a feature on our website. You can provide as much or as little information as you feel relevant, what worked, what didn’t, who you targeted, how you got funding (if any), type of activities etc. and maybe some photographs (these are just suggestions).

You can also sign up for e-bulletins through the link below:

MHFS also run the 10K for Men on Father’s Day (15th June) every year which is the last day of National Men’s Health Week, maybe men in your forum would be interested in taking part? The aim of the 10K is to raise the profile of men’s health in Scotland, engage men of all ages and abilities in healthy activity, provide a major focus for National Men’s Health Week and to raise awareness of Men’s Health Forum Scotland. We have also setup men’s jogging networks across Scotland and there are opportunities for men to become a jog leaders so they can lead their own jogging group – the link below will take you to the information about the jogging groups/training available. If you do require further information about the 10K for Men, please contact Sarah McMillan sarah@mhfs.org.uk who is the 10K for Men Development Worker.

Kind regards
